MALARIA PREVENTION INSECTICIDES

Malaria Fever can be prevented only by stopping the breeding of Anaphilis Mosquitoes. So Insecticides can be used to stop mosquito breeding in water stagnation areas like construction sites, tyres, unwanted materials stacks. There are four class of insecticides currently used in the control of malaria carrying mosquitoes (vectors): organochlorines, organophosphates, carbamates and pyrethroids. The 12 insecticides in all four classes are recommended for use in indoor residual spraying (IRS), whereas only pyrethroids are currently recommended for use in long-lasting insecticidal nets (LLINs). MOSQUITO CONTROL IN CONSTRUCTION SITES

MOSQUITO CONTROL IN CONSTRUCTION SITES Controlling mosquito breeding in cities is quite difficult task, but it can be done. How? The main target is Construction sites, The Mosquito breeding takes place in stagnant water, during construction of buildings, the water is used for curing is stagnated in basement, sunkens and also in the lift ducts. The Health departments of the construction sites may put some guys to find the mosquito breeding areas and spraying of pesticide will be done. The Multi National Companies like CCCL, Mfar Constructions, Onshore Constructions will take care to prevent mosquito breeding and the Diseases like Malaria and Dengue is less in these company labours. But the local companies does not take care to prevent mosquito breeding so the diseases like Malaria and Dengue spread over the cities. The city Municipalities take necessary action to stop mosquito breeding. Weekly visit to all construction sites by the city corporation helps to ...

GUPPY FISH TO CONTROL MOSQUITO BREEDING/ MALARIA

Guppy fish have been proved to be useful in malaria control in studies elsewhere in India 1. In a study done at Goa, India, it was found that the incidence of malaria dropped within a year in the village where they used only biolarvicides, but it increased in the other villages where DDT was continued 2. In mangalore City also it is used in construction sites to reduce mosquito breeding. 3. We can use it in Ponds and water stagnated area for long time to prevent Mosquito breeding

BEST WAY TO CONTROL MOSQUITOES

“MozziQuit” Mosquito Trap is an Electronic device works on less than 3 Watts of power consumption. Zero emission of UV radiation as tested by Raman Research Institute at Bangalore. Proprietary additives are combined in the raw material producing unique parts of the device along with unique heat generating technology within the device to generate required heat free of cost to attract the mosquitoes. Attracted mosquitoes are vacuumed by unique vacuum system integrated within the device. Mosquitoes are instantly killed without getting blood or any parts within the unique instant killing zone provided within the device. Dead mosquitoes are collected in the removable collection container personally to check the number of dead mosquitoes before disposal in the dust bin. “MozziQuit” is tried, tested and approved for use by The National Institute of Malaria Research/Indian Council of Medical Research, Bangalore. NIMR/ICMR, Delhi have also offered/ suggested to use their full pledged R...

INDORE RESIDUAL SPRAYING

Indoor residual spraying (IRS) is considered an effective means of mosquito (vector) control. IRS involves spraying internal walls and ceilings of dwellings using insecticides with residual action (i.e. insecticides that remain on the surface for a long time). The effectiveness of this control method depends to a large extent on the vector’s sensitivity to the insecticide used and how much they like to rest indoors. Most vectors in Africa do prefer to rest indoors. Spraying needs to take place before the malaria transmission season. The parasite in the blood takes about 12 days at 25oC (or longer in cooler environments) to

INSECTICIDE TREATED NETS

INSECTICIDE TREATED NETS The Anopheles is one of the best known types of mosquito because of its role in the transmission of malaria. Since the Anopheles mosquito bites between dusk and dawn, sleeping under mosquito nets treated with insecticides provides critical protection against the spread of malaria. Insecticide treated nets (ITNs) can prevent around 50 percent of malaria cases and can reduce child deaths by an average 18 percent. Long-lasting insecticidal nets (LLINs) are the most cost effective and sustainable method for protection against malaria. LLINs are treated in factories with insecticide and last for approximately three years. Besides protecting those sleeping from infected mosquitoes, LLINs help reduce the overall number of mosquitoes by killing those that come into contact with the treated net. LLINs are increasingly being ...

LLINs - LONG LASTING INSECTICIDAL NETS

Large scale distributions of LLINs have been successful over recent years. However, distribution is not enough on its own. It is important that appropriate communication strategies are put into place to ensure that those who receive nets understand their importance

LARGE SCALE MOSQUITO CONTROL IN LESS COST

Only the female mosquitoes feed on blood, male mosquitoes feed on plant nectar and juices. Female Mosquitoes are attracted by CO (Carbon dioxide) in our breath. They can detect Carbon dioxide from great distances, When the female mosquito gets close, that makes a final choice using skin temperature, odor and other chemical or visual factors. The malaria causing female anopheles mosquitoes, dengue causing aedes mosquitoes generally bites in the evening time. Pesticide Fogging can be used to kill the mosquitoes, the effect of fogging will be 2 to 3 hours. The best way to avoid mosquito bite in the evening time when working outside is wearing full shirt/ jackets. In construction sites and other work areas mosquito breed in stagnant water, to prevent growth of mosquitoes, the stagnant water should be removed at least once in a week. When a pupa is ready to become an adult mosquito, the pupa case splits open and an adult mosquito emerges from the pupa case. The adult mosquito then...

USE BATS TO KILL MOSQUITO

Close the windows and doors in the evening time and use the electronic mosquito killing bat (Mosquito Swatter) to kill mosquitoes inside the home. Its better than using mosquito coils and other vaporizers or pesticides.
